With the New European Innovation Agenda the European Commission wants to place innovation more than ever before as the new "frontier" for universities and higher education institutions: leading the 4th wave of innovation to stimulate economic and societal growth.

In most European countries governments have been encouraging universities actively for many years to go much further, beyond the traditional missions of research and education, to become full actors in complex innovation processes. So has the European Commission, supporting numerous stakeholder driven initiatives for wide innovation and knowledge exchange.

To discuss these issues, join us in Toulouse, in the beautiful new premises of the Toulouse School of Economics. Our hosts will share with us the new dynamic collaboration model they are developing between higher education and the private sector, including with large foundations.

Toulouse University has been recently rewarded by the French government and is now the spearhead of innovation in this vibrant area that hosts the headquarters of Airbus as well as multiple companies that rely extensively on a thriving research and innovation environment.

We will also have the opportunity to learn from highly successful example from Finland, the dynamic Basque Region in Spain and from Australia.
